Dear dear Jane. So sorry to hear the sad news about Bunge, I had no idea, dad is getting very forgetful these days. Sounds like he had a very happy and full life though, right up to the end. Must have been lovely to be together for his 95th. Thanks for the photos, he hasn’t changed a bit (just looks abit frailer)nore have you and your brothers for that matter. Last night when i went to bed after reading your email I just could not stop all these happy memories coming back. Such funny memories of all the silly things Bunge used to come out with, he was such a witty person, a big kid really............. I remember him making fun of the name of one of mums friends who was calld Lydia. He used to call her ‘’lid o yu dustbin’’ Still laugh at that now, so stupidly funny!! So many memories of the things you and I used to do, Highchard, do you remember that? and Inky the jackdaw ( very strange! I have just translated Jackdaw, as I didn’t know what a jackdaw was in french, it is a‘Choucas’ and Choucas is the name we gave to our chalet that we rent. How very odd.) I remember Bunge allowing us to paint an upstairs room we used to play in in your house. You were so lucky to have had such a fun person as a dad, he will be sadly missed by all. Marcel and I send our heartfelt condolences to you Jane, to all your brothers and to all the grandchildren. I feel very privileged to have known him. ( got to stop a mo..... got something in my eye) As I said he had a very happy life, right up to the end. Much love to you all in this difficult time. But I know you all will get great comfort out of the funny memories you must have of him, looking at all his paintings, and the things he used to make for the grandchildren. A man with so much talent. Thanks Jane for letting me have the news. Love and strength to you all. Jane

Hello Jane, I’ve been thinking of you since we got the message from Brian just after Christmas about Bunge’s death. I know how close you were to both him and Marj. Bunge was so pleased that one of you followed in his artistic footsteps. Both Patrick and I remember him fondly - for his enthusiasm and ’go to' attitude to life. We missed Marj after her death and Bunge when he moved, and we’ll not forget them both for the kindness they showed towards us. With all good wishes to you and your family, Fiona and Patrick.
